20 March 2017: Drama student Adan (correct) Osborne provided the actions and voice to create a virtual William Wilberforce to mark the 210th anniversary of the passing of the Slave Trade Act. It was created by the University of Hull and the Glasgow School of Art who used the same 3D technology found in blockbuster Hollywood films to create ‘Virtual Wilberforce’.
Virtual Wilberforce will be unveiled at a special event on 23 March and interactive life-sized screens will be placed around the city of Hull showing short animated videos, talking about his powerful life story and fight for freedom in his own words, from his first speech against the African slave trade in the House of Commons in 1789 through to his death in 1833.
