13 May 2017: The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, lights a candle at Holy Trinity Church, Hull, to mark its re-dedication as a Minster. He carried the lantern (pictured) with a flame lit at Holy Trinty's 'mother' church, All Saints in Hessle, East Yorkshire, and sailed down the Humber Estuary followed by a flotilla into Hull Marina.
The voyage harked back to 700-year-old Holy Trinity's mediaeval origins and also celebrated Hull's maritime heritage.
Holy Trinty is England's largest parish church and the minster-making is one of the keynote events during Hull's year as UK City of Culture.
